PU Injection Waterproofing
PU injection is a specialised waterproofing method that stops water from entering through cracks and joints in concrete. Instead of treating a large surface, the system targets specific leakage points and seals the water path from within.
As a result, PU injection works particularly well for localised or active concrete leaks, including basement walls, concrete slabs and structural joints. It also requires minimal surface disruption, making it a practical solution when conventional surface waterproofing is difficult or unnecessary.
What is PU Injection
PU injection waterproofing uses liquid polyurethane resin to seal cracks, joints and gaps inside concrete.
First, our team injects the PU material directly into the affected area. When the material comes into contact with moisture, it reacts and expands inside the crack. This expansion fills the internal gaps and blocks the path where water enters.
Therefore, rather than simply covering the visible leak, PU injection targets the actual water ingress path within the concrete.
Key Benefits of PU Injection
PU injection provides a targeted solution for concrete leaks that originate from cracks, joints or other localised points.
Targets specific leak points rather than large surfaces
Expands within cracks to seal water paths
Suitable for active or recurring leak points
Designed to stop water leakage from cracks or joints
Resistant to punctures and surface damage when properly installed
Can be carried out with minimal surface disruption
PU Injection Application Method
Step One
Surface Preparation & Injection Points Drilling
First, our team removes any standing water and cleans the affected area. This gives us clear access to the leakage points and helps the PU material perform effectively.
Next, we drill injection points along the identified crack or joint. These points allow us to reach the internal water paths inside the concrete.
Step Two
Packer Installation & PU Injection
We then install injection packers into the drilled points. The packers guide the PU material into the cracks and allow us to control the injection pressure.
Next, we inject the polyurethane material directly into the leakage path. Once the material reacts with moisture, it expands through the cracks and internal gaps.
As a result, the expanded material fills the water path and forms a seal that helps stop further water ingress.
Step Three
Remove Packers & Seal Surface
Once the PU resin has cured, we remove the injection packers.
We then fill the drilled holes and exposed cracks with suitable grout or patching material. Finally, we clean and restore the treated surface so it is ready for inspection, painting, tiling or other finishing work.
