Torch-On Waterproofing Membrane
Torch-on membrane is a durable sheet-based waterproofing system designed to protect concrete surfaces from prolonged water exposure.
The system uses layers of bituminous waterproofing membrane to create a strong and continuous barrier against water ingress. As a result, it is particularly suitable for areas that require long-term protection against rain, standing water and harsh outdoor conditions.
Torch-on membrane works especially well for roof waterproofing, RC slab roof/flat roof and other exposed concrete surfaces. When installed correctly, the membrane provides strong adhesion, weather resistance and dependable waterproofing protection.
What is Torch-On Membrane
Torch-on membrane is a pre-manufactured waterproofing sheet that contractors bond directly onto a prepared surface using controlled heat.
During installation, our team heats the underside of the membrane to activate its adhesive properties. We then bond the membrane firmly to the substrate to create a continuous waterproofing layer.
Because of its thickness and durability, torch-on membrane is commonly used for areas that experience prolonged water exposure or demanding outdoor conditions.

Torch-On Membrane Application Method
Proper installation plays an important role in the performance of a torch-on waterproofing system. Therefore, our team carefully prepares the surface, applies the primer and installs each membrane layer to create a secure and continuous waterproofing barrier.

First Layer: Surface Preparation
First, our team inspects the surface to identify cracks, defects, loose materials or contaminants that may affect the waterproofing system. We then clean and prepare the surface to create a stable base for the membrane.
Where necessary, we repair surface defects before proceeding with the waterproofing application. Proper surface preparation helps the membrane bond securely and reduces the risk of future waterproofing failure. -
Second Layer: Primer Application
Next, we apply a suitable primer evenly across the prepared surface. The primer improves adhesion between the concrete substrate and the torch-on membrane. It also prepares the surface for stronger and more consistent bonding during installation. -
Third Layer: Torch-On Membrane Installation
We then position the torch-on membrane over the primed surface and use controlled heat to activate the underside of the membrane. As the membrane heats up, it bonds securely to the prepared substrate.
Next, we overlap adjacent membrane sheets and seal the joints carefully. This creates a continuous waterproofing barrier across the treated area. Finally, our team checks the completed installation to ensure that the membrane has bonded properly and that all joints and critical areas are securely sealed.
